HENDERSON COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — Latest on this story: Henderson County authorities confirm 27-year-old Garrett Robert Eley has been identified as the suspect in a double homicide that took place Sunday evening in Hendersonville. Eley has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of second-degree kidnapping.

Detectives with Henderson County Sheriff's Office were on the scene Sunday night just past 11:30 p.m. investigating a double homicide, officials said.
On Sunday, Nov. 21 at 9:32 p.m. the Henderson County E-911 center received a call regarding an assault with gunshots at 39 Beaumont Drive in Hendersonville.
Officers determined upon arrival that two people had been fatally shot, officials said.

Detectives with the HCSO Major Crimes Unit were on-scene and said a person of interest had been taken into custody.
Officials said a preliminary investigation showed this was an isolated incident that resulted from a domestic disturbance.
Sheriff Lowell Griffin said this was an isolated incident and there is no further threat to the community.
