2 dead, 8 injured in Upstate lounge shooting

GREENVILLE, S.C. (WLOS) — UPDATE: Authorities say two people have died and eight others are wounded following a shooting in an Upstate lounge Sunday morning.

Greenville deputies say they arrived at the Lavish Lounge just before 2 a.m. Sunday morning.

They say when they arrived they had to call for back-up because of active gunfire inside the building on White Horse Road.

When deputies made it inside, they assessed the scene and transported all the victims from inside the building to the hospital via ambulance.

They say others arrived at the hospital in personal vehicles.

Deputies say no arrests have been made, but they are looking for two suspects.

This is an active investigation and preliminary information. Updates will be given as information becomes available.

Officials say the gathering at the lounge was in violation of Governor McMaster's executive order that restricts nightclubs and any type of concert.

They added the establishment could have possibly filed for appeal of the governor's order in which case they would have been allowed to operate.
