Crews continue monitoring downtown Asheville after morning gas leak

Emergency crews have clamped a gas line following a gas leak Tuesday morning.

On Oct. 13, crews with the Asheville Fired Department (AFD) responded to the leak in Langren Alley between Broadway Street and Market Street.

Crews continue monitoring the area at this time.

Market Street was shut down around 9 a.m.

FIRE STARTS IN BASEMENT AND SPREADS THROUGHOUT TWO-STORY HOME

Officials say there have been no reported injuries at this time.

Several surrounding businesses were evacuated but have since been re-occupied.
