ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Asheville fire crews are on the scene of a structure fire along Haywood Street.
The fire was dispatched at around 7:30 a.m. Thursday morning for a working structure fire at 271 Haywood Street.

The Asheville Fire Department says the fire has extended into the attic and walls and confirms there was a partial roof collapse upon arrival.
As of 8:05 a.m. Asheville Fire says the fire is out.

Asheville Fire Division Chief Shane Mackey tells News 13 the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Crews will remain on the scene for the majority of the day to ensure the fire does not rekindle and to investigate.
