An investigation is underway after the body of a missing six-month-old was found dead early Saturday morning in Charlotte.

According to ABC affiliate WSOC, authorities said six-month-old Chi-Liam and his mother, Tamara Brown, were first reported missing from the Gander Cove Lane area in Matthews around 10 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020. Brown may have also faced mental health challenges, according to police.

Brown was found later, but Chi-Liam was not with her. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police arrested Brown on Galleria Boulevard in southeast Charlotte for robbery and assaulting government employees.

Brown was accused of taking a man’s iPhone and then, assaulting him as well as the two officers who arrested her.

Police reported Brown was last seen with her son around noon on Friday in uptown Charlotte. She later refused to cooperate with officials and tell them where her son was located.

On Feb. 22, officers responded to Sharon Memorial Park on Monroe Road just after 4 a.m. and found a deceased infant, who was later identified as Chi-Liam.

Authorities have not said how the child died and no one has been charged yet.
