Boats N' Roads: Large boat blocks lane & traffic along I-26 Saturday afternoon

BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — A bit of a headache for drivers along Interstate 26 Saturday afternoon in Asheville after a boat blocked the westbound left lane of traffic.

The NCDOT says the incident started just before 1 p.m. near NC-251, exit 25, (Broadway Street) and had traffic backed up for miles until after 2:30 p.m.

Authorities tell News 13 the straps holding the boat on the truck carrying it broke, causing the boat to fall.

There were no injuries and officials were able to get the boat out of the roadway without incident.
