Throughout the day Friday, flash flooding in Biltmore Village left some spots looking more like rivers than roads.

"We’ve seen it come up a few different times, and, every time it floods, it gives us a better understanding at how the water flows in the village," Village Wayside Bar and Grille manager Mark Harding said.

For businesses in Biltmore Village, the situation is nothing new.

“We’re definitely primed and ready to go, and we just want everyone to know that everybody knows that we're used to doing this and we are going to get this all cleaned up," Harding said.

But, until the water goes down, it’s hurting their bottom line.

“It's a little bit of a hassle, but we have a great team behind us that helps us out,” Harding said. “Everybody jumps on board."

It was also all hands on deck for emergency crews.

“It’s been non-stop,” Asheville Fire Battalion Chief Eric Stalte said.

While News 13 crews were at Biltmore village, two cars attempted to drive through the flood water and got stuck. Two others stuck vehicles were already there when our crews arrived.

“Usually, when someone is there, the other people are like, 'Let’s not drive through,'” Harding said.

Shortly after 6 p.m., the Asheville Fire Department posted to Twitter that it asks people in and around Biltmore Village to leave the area as soon as possible and go to higher ground.

We know of at least two water rescues that took place in Asheville. Crews continue to urge people to play it safe.

"We have got many streets blocked off and hopefully people stay out of the water," Stalte said.

Harding said Village Wayside will be open Saturday.

"We’ll be flipping burgers and serving Lagunitas IPA all day tomorrow," Harding said.
