There goes another one--there was a small earthquake Saturday night near Mascot, Tennessee (northeast of Knoxville), that was felt as far as Brevard and Marshall.

The earthquake was felt in Georgia and Kentucky as well

The harmless 3.01-magnitude quake happened around 11:12 p.m.

There have been a few other small quakes recently near the N.C./Tenn. border, including one on Wednesday, another on Thursday, and two more on Friday.

There is no reason for alarm, as earthquakes commonly include aftershocks, and can also happen in clusters.

No injuries or damage are reported. Geologists say damage isn't likely in temblors below magnitude 4.0.

It's the second earthquake in eastern Tennessee in the past week. A magnitude 4.4 earthquake on Wednesday was centered near Decatur.

According to the USGS, the Eastern Tennessee seismic zone is one of the most active in the Southeast. The zone extends across parts of Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama.
