Woodhouse chosen as NC Republican Party executive director

Two of the state party's top organizing groups, the Central Committee and the Executive Committee, met in Greensboro on Saturday. Multiple sources with knowledge of the meetings say the Central Committee has authorized N.C. Republican Party Chairman Hasan Harnett to hire Woodhouse.

"Congratulations to @DallasWoodhouse for being selected by the @NCGOP Central Committee to be the next Executive Director," said Todd Poole, who resigned from the job this summer to work for 8th District Congressman Richard Hudson by way of Twitter.

"Good luck, Dallas. Now Republicans, let's get to work and kick butt," said former state Rep. Carolyn Justice, the party's former vice chairwoman.

Woodhouse cautioned by text message that he has not received nor accepted a formal offer.

"The NCGOP central committee interviewed candidates and discussed the position of ED at today's meeting, but no formal offer has been made or accepted yet," Woodhouse said via text message.

At one point, Woodhouse led the North Carolina chapter of Americans for Prosperity, a flagship group of the conservative network put together by Charles and David Koch. During the 2014 campaign cycle, Woodhouse led Carolina Rising, a 501(c)(4) group that advertised on behalf of Thom Tillis during his successful U.S. Senate campaign. At the time, Woodhouse said Carolina Rising was formed to tout the positive accomplishments of North Carolina Republicans.
