Dems fundraise for firebombed GOP office

Democrats have launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise $10,000 to help reopen a firebombed Republican county office in North Carolina.

“As Democrats, we are starting this campaign to enable the Orange County, North Carolina Republican office to reopen as soon as possible,” the page says.

{mosads}Just four hours after the donation page launched, almost $8,500 had been raised.

Police said Sunday that a bottle of flammable liquid was thrown into the building housing the county’s GOP headquarters in Hillsborough.

“The office itself is a total loss,” said the head of the state Republican Party, Dallas Woodhouse. “The only thing important to us is that nobody was killed, and they very well could have been.”

“Nazi Republicans get out of town or else” was also written on the side of a nearby building.

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and Republican nominee Donald Trump both took to Twitter on Sunday night to condemn the attack.

“The attack on the Orange County HQ office is horrific and unacceptable,” Clinton’s campaign wrote. “Very grateful that everyone is safe.”

Trump took a harsher tone and pointed fingers, though police have not released any information about suspects or motive yet.

“Animals representing Hillary Clinton and Dems in North Carolina just firebombed our office in Orange County because we are winning,” Trump tweeted.
