Officials: "There is basically no access into the city of Wilmington"

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - The following are several key points made at the Sunday afternoon news conference from the New Hanover County Emergency Operations Center.
- There is basically no access into the city of Wilmington, according to New Hanover County Board of Commissioners Chair Woody White. Those who evacuated should wait to return.
- The county has been in contact with the state for additional law enforcement.
- Logistics are underway to deliver food and water into the area by air.
- The New Hanover County 911 center went down early Sunday, but calls rolled over to Raleigh without incident. This was part of the county's emergency plan.
- Countywide curfew is now sun-down to sun-up.
- Two new shelters will open: Hoggard High School opens Sunday at 5pm. It will be a pet co-location site and accommodate 1387 people.
- UNCW may be the second additional shelter site. Details still being finalized.
- CFPUA has secured enough diesel to avoid a cut-off of water supply services within the next 48 hours.
- Debris removal may be delayed due to weather.
- There have been 465 car and home rescues this weekend in New Hanover County.
