Nana (Chief) Ankaasehene and entourage pay tribute to the Asantehene (Ashanti king) Otumfuo Nana Opoku Ware II in a durbar (festival) marking his 25-year jubilee, August, 1995 in Kumasi, Ghana, West Africa. The late Otumfuo "went to his village" peacefully in February, 1999. The new Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, was enstooled on April 26, 1999, the 16th ruler of the Asante nation. copyright ©1995 by Jacquelin C. Peters
