Nantahala Regional Library System
Graham County Public Library is part of the Nantahala Regional Library System which includes four county libraries. On the website you are able to search for books, CDs, videos and DVDs from all branches. With your library card you can put a hold on an item, request an item from another library, or renew a checked-out item. On the “My Account” link, just use the eight digit number under the bar code on your library card as your Patron/ID number and the last four digits of your phone number as your PIN. You may change your PIN later. A new feature is the ability to download audio books to either an iPod or a MP3 player. Check out the site.Thank you for becoming a patron of your local library.

gpressley.gcpl@gmail.comThe Graham County Public Library is supported by the county and the state and is one of four libraries in the Nantahala Regional Library system. A library card enables the patron to use any of the Nantahala Regional Library system branches. Additionally, books from other libraries across the state and nation can be requested and loaned out from the Graham County library. Applications for a library card is all that is required to obtain borrowing privileges. (Please bring some form of picture identification when applying for your card.)
The library's collection has a large number of children's books for all ages, adult and young adult fiction of all types, large print books, biographies, and a substantial reference section. Current bestsellers are kept on display. The library collection has more than 14,000 hardback books, 2,000 paperback books, 500 audio cassettes, and 600 videos lining its shelves. It subscribes to 40 magazines and receives daily copies of USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, the Asheville Citizen-Times and The Graham Star and The Graham Sentinel.
Friends of the Library is a group of residents who support the library by raising money and sponsoring special events. The library has a large conference room which is available to the public for community meetings. Reference service is available at all times and non-fiction books which are not available in the Nantahala Regional Library may be borrowed through a region-wide inter-library lending system. Four display cases in the main entry to the library showcase the crafts and collections of residents and nearby artists.
For those who find it difficult to get to the library building, the Nantahala Regional Library has a Bookmobile which stops at schools, nursing homes and other convenient locations throughout the county. It serves Graham County one week out of each month. Requests for this service or other information may be had be phoning the library at 828-479-8796.
