- Every Tuesday at 10:30-11 AM at the Graham County Family Resource Center room 201 in the Stecoah Valley Center. For families with toddlers and preschool age children. MARCH 11 -- Uncle Sam's Birthday Family Adventures in Reading - Friday, March 11, 2005 at 4:30-6PM at the Graham County Family Resource Center on Moose Branch Road. For families of children ages 3 to grade 3. Families come have your picture made with Uncle Sam, listen to a story, make some crafts and have some snacks. Please call us by Wednesday, March 9 if you intend to come so that we can prepare for snacks and space at 479-2348 or 479-9008.

MARCH 12 -- Decorate & Fly A Kite Day - Saturday, March 12, 2005 at 1-2:30PM at the Graham County Family Resource Center Stecoah Site room 201 in the Stecoah Valley Center . For families of preschool age through elementary grade children. Families come decorate a kite, fly the kite outside and have some snacks. Please call us by Thursday, March 10 if you intend to come so that we can prepare for snacks and space at 479-2348 or 479-9008.

MARCH 17 -- St. Patrick's Day Family Adventures in Reading - Thursday, March 17, 2005 at 4:30-6PM at the Graham County Family Resource Center Robbinsville Site on Moose Branch Road. For families of children ages 3 to grade 3. Families come listen to a story, make some crafts and have some snacks. MARCH 19 -- Family Easter Craft Day - Saturday, March 19, 2005 at 1-3PM at the Graham County Family Resource Center Stecoah Site room 201 in the Stecoah Valley Center. MARCH 21 -- Achieve! Success for Young Father - Monday, March 21 at 5-9PM at the Graham County Family Resource Center Robbinsville Site on Moose Branch Road and a meal will be provided. You must complete all classes to receive a certificate of completion. To sign up call Renee Nuchols at 479-2348 or 479-9008. You must pre-register for class by March 20. Limited to the first 10 people. Please give your name, phone number and name of class you want to take when signing up. This class provides motivation, support and practical parenting skills for young fathers. Using a documentary format, the series offers the candid comments of young fathers from many ethnic, racial and social-economic backgrounds. Topics covered include self-esteem issues, practical skills of baby care, communication issues, and aspects of responsible fatherhood.

- Physical care of your baby or child

- A trip to the doctor or clinic Sleep patterns during visitation

MARCH 22 -- Dr. Seuss's Birthday Family Adventures in Reading - Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at 6-8PM at the Graham County Family Resource Center Robbinsville Site on Moose Branch Road. For families of children ages 3 to grade 3. Come have your picture made with Cat in the Hat, make some crafts and have some snacks. Please call us by Monday, February 28 if you intend to come so that we can prepare for snacks and space at 479-2348 or 479-9008.

MARCH 26 -- Easter Egg Hunt & Activities - Saturday, March 26, 2005 at 11AM-1PM at the Stecoah Valley Center . Presented by the Graham County Family Resource Center . For families of children 0-12 years of age. Families come have your picture made with the Easter Bunny. Play all kinds of games, such as. Bunny Pokey, Egg Roll, Spoon Egg Race, Egg Toss, Pin the Tail on the Bunny, Duck Walk Race and maybe even a Treasure Hunt. Have an Egg Hunt. Refreshments will be served.

APRIL 1 -- April Fool's Day Family Adventures in Reading - Friday, April 1, 2005 at 3:30-5PM at the Graham County Family Resource Center Stecoah Site room 201 in the Stecoah Valley Center . For families of preschool age 3 through grade 3. Families come to listen to a story, make some crafts and have some snacks. Please call us by Wednesday, March 30 if you intend to come so that we can prepare for snacks and space at 479-2348 or 479-9008.

APRIL 5 -- Growing Together - Tuesdays, April 5, 19, 26, May 10, 17 & 24 at 11AM-12PM at the Graham County Family Resource Center Robbinsville Site on Moose Branch Road and snacks will be provided. You mus1 complete all classes to receive a certificate of completion. To sign up call Renee Nuchols at 479-2348 or 479-9008. You must pre-register for class by April 4. Limited to the first 10 people. Please give your name, phone number and name of class you want to take when signing up. This six session class provides special help to at-risk teenage mothers. This series develops the young mother's confidence in her ability to care for her baby between birth and 6 months.

  • Just Like You (Your Baby Is A Person) - In this session, the mother learns that both she and her baby are important, unique individuals. She is given ways to develop her own self-esteem and that of her baby.

  • Out of Danger (Your Baby's Safety) - This session demonstrates the vulnerability of babies and shows the practical steps the mother can take to protect her baby.

  • Good Food For A Good Start (Nutrition) - This session teaches the fundamental principles of proper infant feeding. It also explains and encourages a healthy diet for the teen mother.

  • Strong &, Healthy (Your Baby's Health) - This session covers the most basic information the young mother should know to maintain the infant's health and her own, including how and when to call the doctor.

  • What My Baby Can Do (Physical Development) - In this session the mother learns about normal physical development for an infant. She also learns what to expect from her baby, and how to assist in its development.

  • Feelings, Family, Friends (Social/Emotional Development) - This session promotes individuation through positive play activities, interaction with family, and finding support from others.

APRIL 24 -- 9th Annual Graham County Family Fun Fest - Sunday, April 24, 2005 at 12-3PM at the Robbinsville Elementary Gym next to the Graham County Family Resource Center on Moose Branch Road and across the road from the Annual Ramp Festival. For families of children of all ages. Families can learn about services in the county and children get to enjoy free fun games and activities of all kinds.

MAY 3 -- Single Parent Family Workshop - Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at 5-6:30PM at the Graham County Family Resource Center Robbinsville Site on Moose Branch Road . For single parent families trying to raise children by themselves. Please call us by Friday, April 30 to pre-register for the class at 479-2348 or 479-9008.
