GRAHAM COUNTY CRIMINAL JUSTICE COMMISSION


PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVES

(a) To act as a non-partisan, non-political agency for the people of Graham County NC, attempting to determine if those public officials responsible for the administration of the criminal justice system are performing their duties honestly, legally and efficiently, and to support their efforts towards professionalism in the suppression of crime.

(b) To report to the public the results of such determinations and to take whatever action the commission considers appropriate in the circumstances to strengthen the criminal justice system.

(c) To promote scientific research in criminology, law enforcement, and criminal justice and to publicize results as appropriate.

(d) To promote dialog and exchange of information between law enforcement agencies and the public by means of prominent speakers, seminars and meetings as appropriate.

(e) To inform the public of problems within the criminal justice system that requires public opinion for support.
