Directions

UNCA - Reuter Center
If you are coming from I-19/23/26 take exit 25, the UNCA exit. If you are coming from the North, take a left at the light at the end of the ramp, and take another left at the second light onto Campus Drive. If you are coming from the South, take a right at the stop sign at the end of the exit ramp, and take a left at the first light onto Campus Drive. Once you are on Campus Drive, go 0.5 mile going over 4 speed bumps to the top of the hill. At the stop sign take a left (there is a small sign pointing left to the Reuter Center), and go less than 100 yards to the driveway on the right, which is the entrance to the Reuter Center parking lot. Drive straight into the upper parking lot. Enter the Reuter Center through the doors at the large overhang. Room 206 is on your left. If the upper parking lot should be full, continue through the upper parking lot and drive around to the lower parking lot. Enter the building there and use either the elevator or the very long staircase to tget to the second floor. Click here for more information about the Reuter Center. TRASH TALK: People sometimes ask me, why isn't there a garbage can at the Sanctuary? Here are some reasons:

1. A trash can attracts trash, lots of it, and raccoons and possums, too.

2. A volunteer would have to haul it away.

3. People would get the idea the Sanctuary is meant for picnicking. While we don't mind it, we don't encourage it. (And please don't feed the wildlife.)

4. People should make sure their cans and bottles are recycled.

5. Your mother doesn't work there -- so clean up after yourself, please (and your pet).
