REGIONAL COORDINATOR
FOR INTERNET TECHNOLOGY COORDINATION

A program at the Rural Center is recruiting for four positions that will be located in the more rural regions of North Carolina. These are time-limited positions subject to completion of duties by the Rural Internet Access Authority in January 2004. The work is challenging but extremely rewarding. The person(s) hired will be the field coordinators for the staff of the Rural Internet Access Authority. The home base for these positions will be Asheville, Kinston, Edenton and the Wilmington-Lumberton area.

The position will require an entrepreneurial attitude as well as the following knowledge and skills:

Knowledge of and interest in rural areas

Skills for coordination of diverse groups

Excellent communication and organization skills

Excellent meeting facilitation skills

Knowledge of and skill with Internet technologies

General knowledge of current science and technology issues

General knowledge of business and government issues

Educational requirements

The applicant should have at least a bachelor's degree. However, an associate of arts degree in computer networking technologies from a two-year college is also acceptable. Five years work experience is preferred. This position should not be considered an entry-level position for new graduates...however, if you think you qualify, please apply.

Salary

The salary range is approximately $40,000 to 50,000.
