Franklin Pierce Cover House
This large 2 and 1/2 story brick house with gable dormers and a three story tower
was built ca 1900 for Franklin Pierce Cover, founder of F.P. Cover & Sons Tannery
in Andrews. It is said to have been built by bricklayers imported from Virginia,
who also built the tannery buildings. It is unusual in style and material for
Cherokee County.
