On Saturday the weather was so beautiful that my husband and I decided to take a ride up over the Cherohala Skyway. This road climbs to over 5000 feet at the highest point. You will see that the colors were absolutely beautiful at the lower elevations, but as we climbed higher the colors began to change due to the leaves falling. By the time we reached the top, the trees were essentially bare. Descending the other side, we soon began to see more colors again. All in all it was a beautiful day and a great ride. I hope you enjoy these photographs. It is not in Cherokee County but is nearby and many people who live here and visit here enjoy the trip over the Cherohala.
