Warren Wilson College’s renowned MFA Program for Writers rings in 2015 with a series of free public readings and lectures as part of the program’s winter residency Jan. 3-12.

All morning lectures and evening readings in fiction and poetry are presented either by the MFA program’s accomplished faculty or by graduating MFA students. Each event lasts about an hour.

The MFA Program for Writers became the nation’s first low-residency creative writing program when it was founded by Ellen Bryant Voigt at Goddard College in 1976. The program moved to Warren Wilson College in 1981 and each year has 10-day residencies in January and July for its students and faculty.
