Overmountain Victory Trail Hike

During the early stages to the Revolutionary War, a band of southern frontiersmen set out on a journey to find and engage a British-sponsored army and defeat it at the Battle of King’s Mountain. Come out and walk in the footsteps of freedom along a segment of the Overmountain Victory Trail. We will depart from the Holly Discovery Trail parking area of Lake James State Park at 6:00 p.m. for a short hike, before regrouping at the swim beach at 7:30 p.m. for storytelling and music, courtesy of the Overmountain Victory Trail Association and the Backwater String Band.
