The Mission for Temporal Art is a nascent arts organization housed in a beautiful old 1912 Methodist church building in historic downtown Marshall NC.
Proprietors Claire Elizabeth Barratt & David Linton share a vision for the space to present time-based art in the form of contemporary multi-media, new media, music, dance, spoken-word performance & installation. To present exhibits & events & to provide residencies for world-class artists – while also recognizing the richness of regional performance traditions.

Spring For The Mission is a duple event:

Friday evening holds a concert of local greats on the scene – Marshall resident Mark Hosler (Negativland), Asheville’s Ahleuchatistas (Shane perlowin / Ryan Oslance), Chandra Shukla’s Xambuca, Meghan Mulhearn / Divine Circles – plus, new local-boy but seasoned New York avant-garde pioneer, David Linton / Bi-Cameral AV.

Saturday afternoon offers an informal drop-in Open House / Open Floor.
Visitors are welcome to stop by & enjoy refreshments.
Cilla Vee Life Arts provides a structured “Open Floor” where dancers & musicians mingle & improvise together. All are welcome to join in or to observe as they wish.

Refreshments will be served & donations will be gratefully accepted throughout both events – the proceeds of which go towards the launching of the MTA’s regular programming beginning later this Spring.

It also marks the closing of the MTA Indiegogo fundraiser “Help Us Launch The Mission”
