Forest Festival Day

More than 80 traditional crafters, exhibitors, forestry students, and entertainers gather at the Cradle of Forestry in America to celebrate our forests and forest heritage. Highlights include wood carvers, weavers, a blacksmith, and old-time musicians. The Festival also hosts the 18th Annual John G. Palmer Intercollegiate Woodsmen’s Meet, a lumberjack competition organized by Haywood Community College. The Festival begins at 9 AM and lasts all day. Tickets cost $6 for adults, $3 for children and pass holders.

The Cradle of Forestry is located at 11250 Pisgah Highway, in Pisgah National Forest on NC Hwy 276. It lies 14 miles north of Brevard, NC and four miles south of the Blue Ridge Parkway at MP 412. Call 828-877-3130 or visit http://www.cradleofforestry.com/ for more information.
