I pay $51 to AT&T/month. (It just went up again. Because I don't have a landline phone with them, they upcharge me for the service. I'd rather have service through Charter. (Listen up, Charter.) However, since I use my own domain name, they won't support it unless you are a business customer. So it's not that they CAN'T support users with their own domains, it's that they WON'T. I used to have a cable modem and it took months of calling to ask why I had so many bounced back emails or emails that never went through before someone at Charter finally admitted that they wouldn't support my domain and that that was the problem. Still get the annoying spam phone calls from charter trying to sell me bundles. When I say my piece about the lack of support for my domain in their internet service, the telemarketer will blithely go on to trying to sell me a landline account. I would go back to a cable modem in a heartbeat if they would support my domain, which I need for business.
