The mountains of North Carolina have long been known as home to some of the finest artists and craftspeople in America. Toe River Arts Council (TRAC) is proud to present a few of their creations at the prestigious Southern Spring Home and Garden Show.
From March 3 - 7, nearly thirty TRAC member artists will offer works for exhibit and sale at the Charlotte Merchandise Mart. Many of these artists will travel to Charlotte to set up and staff the booth. Daily demonstrations will offer curious visitors the opportunity to watch several of these talented artists at work, including pastel painting, carving ceramic tiles, woven silver jewelry, sculpting clay birds, mat cutting, silver art clay, and wheelthrown pottery.
Among the unique works presented by the noted artists of TRAC, shoppers will find exquisite hand blown glass and an amazing array of fine pottery, both functional and sculptural. Glittering original designs in jewelry will dazzle the eye. Evocative photographs and wonderful paintings will share space with intricate textile designs and elegant hand crafted papers of many textures and colors. Warm, glowing woods fashioned into items destined to grace home and landscape will capture attention.
TRAC artists are excited to participate in the Southern Spring Home and Garden Show and hope people will enjoy the work as much as the artists enjoy making it.
The Toe River Arts Council is a nonprofit membership organization serving over 300 studio artists from Mitchell and Yancey counties in beautiful Western North Carolina. We believe that arts appreciation and participation fosters self-knowledge and healthy community life.
