The Pisgah Chapter of Trout Unlimited is
located in Hendersonville, N.C. with most of our membership coming from Polk,
Henderson, and Transylvania Counties. The Pisgah National Forest,
the Nantahala National Forest, and the Great Smoky National Park are at our
back door, making our area a great place to live and fish. Our chapter was founded in June of 1969.
We are celebrating our 40th year of cold water conservation.
From our humble beginning of 11 members we have grown to over 300
and can boast an average 25% monthly meeting attendance. The Pisgah Chapter is very active in
conservation projects that involve working with the U.S. Forest Service, the
U.S. Park Service, and the North Carolina Wildlife Resources
Commission. We are currently partnered with the U.S. Forest
Service, Brevard College, the Trout and Salmon foundation, and the State
Council of North Carolina Trout Unlimited in a project dedicated to
preserving the condition of the Davidson River, one of the premier trout
streams in the United States. If you should find yourself in our area,
please come to one of our meetings. Visitors are always welcome. "The Pisgah Chapter is a subsidiary
organization under the authority of Trout Unlimited, a Michigan nonprofit
organization as described in the IRS tax code, section 501(c)(3), your
donation is considered to be tax-deductible." Our Vision Pursue a future where populations of native
and wild coldwater fish thrive in the Western North Carolina region for
following generations to enjoy. Our Mission Conserve, protect and restore coldwater
fisheries and their watersheds in the Western North Carolina region. |
